Sunday Services

Sundays are a great time to visit us – in person or online. We gather every Sunday at 8AM and 9:30AM EST in our beautiful, light-filled sanctuary for inspiration, reflection and connection.

Our worship service lasts about an hour and typically includes music, readings, a time for prayer and meditation, and a sermon.  Our wide-ranging topics and music make each service unique

If you’re visiting us in person, we suggest that you enter the sanctuary through the main doors facing Farmington Ave. Let our greeters know that you’re visiting so we can welcome you and offer more information about our church.  We encourage you to fill out a Welcome Card. 

Come as you are. Among our pews you will see a wide range of attire from sport coats and dresses to casual shirts and jeans.

Childcare is available every Sunday for babies and toddlers during the 9:30 service. Older children may attend church school, we call it Kids for Christ or KFC. Meet Priscilla and children in the Narthex (by the front door.) We process through the church and down to our classroom. Children return to their families at the Passing of the Peace. There is no Christian education held on Sundays on holiday weekends, and occasionally on other Sundays when special events or other concerns interfere with the usual schedule. At St. James’s, children are always welcome to stay with their families in the sanctuary, if that works better on any given Sunday. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders attend Youth Group held on one Sunday per month throughout the program year. We usually meet at church for a fun game or team building activity followed by dinner. The middle schoolers also have an opportunity to engage in outside community outreach projects. Friends are always welcome! After the Service, join us in Parish Hall for coffee,  refreshments and conversation.

Wheelchair Access
Our building is equipped with handicapped parking and a ramp that is wheelchair accessible. Enter through our side entrance on the left of the building and turn right.

Assistive Listening
Assistive Listening Devices available from our worship ushers in the Sanctuary.

Parking is available in the rear of the building and on nearby residential streets.
